Professor Dr. Masood Sadiq Butt. holds Ph.D. degree in Food Technology (UAF, Pakistan) and Post Doctorate from North Carolina State University Raleigh, USA. He is working in the domain of Food Science and Nutrition with special reference to functional and nutraceutical foods. Dr. Butt is credited for the Establishment of Functional and Nutraceutical Food Research Section at the National Institute of Food Science and Technology under Pak-US joint project in collaboration with the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA. He has also served as a member Scientific Panel of the Punjab Food Authority. Additionally, he is a professional member of various national/international associations/societies of food science and nutrition. He is recipient of Research Productivity Award from the Pakistan Council for Science and Technology several times. Besides, he has also won the coveted prize on the top-cited research paper from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. He is also a recipient of the Star Laureate Award from South Asia Publications. He has participated in many national and international conferences/workshops and paid sincere contribution towards the development of curriculum for degree programs leading to B.Sc. (Hons.) Food Science and Technology, B.Sc. (Hons.) Human Nutrition Dietetics and M.Sc. (Hons.) Human Nutrition & Dietetics. Till date, he has produced 30 Ph.D. and 150 M.Sc. students in addition to about 270 research publications in journals of national and international repute with an impact factor of 400+. Previously, he has also served as Director-General NIFSAT as well as Director Graduate Studies, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad and visiting Professor at Department of Food Science, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA. Earlier, he actively participated in uplifting the Department of Food Technology to the Institute of Food Science & Technology and then to the National Institute of Food Science & Technology. Currently, he is serving as Dean, Faculty of Food, Nutrition & Home Sciences.
